Romany Ryme has come out of his race at Catterick on Sunday unscathed after belting the open ditch and unseating his jockey. The horse ran about a mile and 6 furlongs in total and up to that point had travelled well and never touched a twig!
Jonathon is a bit bruised but otherwise fine.
I found the day really frustrating as the way the race had cut up with just the six starters and after a few furlongs only five left running, it was a great opportunity missed to bag some very decent prize money in an easy enough race for £7k on offer to the winner.
There are very few race options for our horse over the next few weeks and the race at Newcastle on Saturday is against horses rated a stone better than ours therefore we will be up against it on the day.
