I spent a few hours at Georges place earlier this week taking a good look at the horses and how they are all shaping up.
All was well and I thought Romany Ryme looked especially good out at grass and even came over to say hello.
Young Dexter continues to grow and whilst he may still not be the biggest horse in the world he is looking better all the time and moves very well. If he keeps progressing as he is then we will all be pleased.
Dark Caviar is being slowly introduced to walking and stretching exercises over the next few weeks to get him going again and to gradually build him up back up again ready for his return to training in September. The slight leg problem he had looks completely healed with no signs that it was ever there which is good news.
I was chuffed to see Rev Up Ruby win for the stable at Hexham recently and especially as it was ridden by Joanna who gave the horse a great ride to win with what looked like a bit in hand at the finish. Having only been raised 4LB as a result it could be described as a very canny bit of race placing and riding!
The Bewley stable has a few runners at Perth next week and I will take a closer look at the runners the day before racing.
I am not a fan of this summer jump racing especially on good to firm ground and therefore will not be posting very often until we get the horses going again for the proper jumps racing season racing which starts getting going again in September/October.
